There are times when life is hard. We have a lot going on at once and it seems like it will never end. Where you have prayed asking God for help, but it doesn't seem to come. Times where your energy is just spent, and you feel like you have nothing left to give.
There was a time
where it seemed like there were problems, or unknowns, in every area of my
life. This led to a sleepless night. It led to tears. It led to me not knowing
what to say or ask for anymore because I had poured it all out already and I
didn't know what else to say. As I let out a moan that night, a verse came to
my mind.
Romans 8:26-27
says, "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not
know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us
through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the
Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the
will of God." I had no words. I had no energy. I was spent physically and
emotionally but my spirit was stirring. It knew what needed to be said. I
didn't know what it was saying all the time, but I knew it was crying out to
God in words I couldn't even utter at that point.
That's the thing
about God. In his mercy he has given us his love. In his mercy he sent his son
to be the perfect sacrifice. In his mercy he sent his spirit to wash over us
after Jesus left. The spirit leads us and intercedes for us when we don't know
what to say or what we need. That's amazing. It's amazing what our God has done
and what he will do.
So, have you
ever gone through a time of moaning? If you don't know what to ask for or where
the spirit is leading you, I encourage you to spend some time in silence and
solitude so the spirit can lead or intercede for you.
